5 Angels of Allah: Who are they?

1. Jibreel: The messenger to the Messengers

The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down. Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] that you may be of the warner’s. (As Shu’ara: 193)

2. Malik: The chief of the Angels of Jahannam

And they will call, “O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!” He will say, “Indeed, you will remain.” (Zukhruf: 77)

3. Israfil: The blower of the trumpet

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “How can I feel at ease when the Angel of the Trumpet, (Israfil) has put his lips to the Trumpet and is waiting for the order to blow it.” (Tirmidhi)

4. Kiraman Katibin: The Noble recorder of deeds

When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared (to record). (Qaf: 17)

5. The Guardian Angels: The protectors

For each one are successive (angels) before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah. (Rad: 11)
