“When you ask (for anything), ask it from Allah, and if you seek help, seek help from Allah.” (Tirmidhi)
1. Istisharah (consulting others)
Ask people who know, collect your evidence and do your homework”So ask the People of the Reminder if you do not know.” (Qur’an 21:6-7)
2. Istikharah (seeking the knowledge of Allah)
Ask Allah for guidance
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach us Istikharah, just as he used to teach us a Surah of the Qur’an. He said: ‘If anyone of you is deliberating about a decision he has to make, then let him pray two Rak’ah of non- obligatory prayer (Ibn Majah)
3. Determination
Make sure you get a clear sign
“…if there still remains any fight with the Quraish , then keep me alive till I fight against them for Your Sake. But if you have brought the war to an end, then let this wound burst and cause my death thereby.’ So blood gushed from the wound. Sa’d then died because of that.” (Bukhari)
4. Trust
If everything has fallen into place and you have committed yourself in good faith, put your trust in Allah and not hesitate.
“And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.” (65:3)
