- The Mahr is an obligation of the Husband
And give the women (upon marriage) their (bridal) gifts graciously. (4:4) - Be moderate

“Marry, even with (a Mahr equal to) an iron ring.” (Bukhari)
“How much Qur’an do you know? He said, ‘I know such and such Suras,” naming some Suras. The Prophet ﷺ said, “I marry her to you for the amount of Qur’an you know (by heart). (Bukhari)
